A cherished meal in our family! My kids loved it and finished the leftovers the next day!

Creamy Baked Potato & Cheese Gratin with Crispy Bacon
This rich, cheesy potato gratin is comfort food at its finest. Thinly sliced potatoes are layered with a warm garlic-infused cream, savory bacon crumbles, and a melty mix of cheddar and mozzarella. Baked until golden and bubbling, it’s a crowd-pleasing side dish perfect for any occasion.

🧄 Ingredients:

IngredientQuantity
Medium potatoes, peeled & sliced thin6
Shredded cheddar cheese1 cup
Shredded mozzarella cheese1 cup
Heavy cream1 cup
Milk½ cup
Cooked bacon, crumbled6 slices
Garlic, minced2 cloves
Salt & pepperTo taste
Butter2 tablespoons
Fresh parsley or chives, chopped1 tablespoon

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly butter a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Make the Garlic Cream
In a small saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, and minced garlic. Warm gently over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Do not let it boil—just heat through.

Step 3: Build the Layers
Layer half the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish. Season with salt and pepper. Scatter half the bacon, then sprinkle half of both cheeses on top. Pour over half of the warm cream mixture.

Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, bacon, cheese, and finish with the remaining cream mixture.

Step 4: Bake Until Golden
Dot the top with small pieces of butter. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15–20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender and the top is golden and bubbling.

Step 5: Garnish & Serve
Let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley or chives for a fresh, colorful touch.
