Crispy Oven Fries
These aren’t your ordinary homemade fries. Roasted in rich duck fat for that extra layer of indulgence, these oven-baked fries boast a crisp, golden exterior and a soft, fluffy center. Perfectly seasoned and irresistibly crunchy, they’re a standout side dish you’ll want to make again and again.
Ingredient | Quantity |
---|---|
Large russet potatoes | 4 |
Duck fat, melted | 3 tablespoons |
Lawry’s seasoned salt | 1 tablespoon |
1. Preheat and Prep
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Rinse and scrub the russet potatoes thoroughly. Slice them into fries—about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, depending on your preference.
2. Season the Fries
Place the cut potatoes in a large bowl. Drizzle with melted duck fat and sprinkle with Lawry’s seasoned salt. Toss well to make sure every fry is evenly coated.
3. Bake – Part One
Arrange the fries in a single layer on a large baking sheet. (Use two sheets if needed to prevent overcrowding, which is key to getting that crispy finish.) Bake for 20 minutes at 375°F.
4. Bake – Part Two (Get Crispy!)
After 20 minutes, increase the oven temperature to 450°F (230°C). Continue baking for another 25–30 minutes, or until the fries are deeply golden and perfectly crisp. Keep a close eye toward the end to avoid overbrowning.
5. Serve and Savor
Remove from the oven and serve hot. These fries are at their best fresh out of the oven—crispy, savory, and full of flavor.
🍟 Tip: Want to take them up a notch? Serve with aioli, truffle ketchup, or a sprinkle of parmesan and herbs.
