Indulge in the Ultimate Caramelitas
These Caramelitas are pure dessert bliss—featuring a buttery oat base, rich chocolate chips, and a silky caramel layer all topped with a golden crumble. With every bite offering a mix of chewy, gooey, and crunchy textures, this crowd-pleaser is perfect for any gathering or cozy night in.

🧾 Ingredients:

IngredientAmount
Melted butter¾ cup
All-purpose flour1 cup
Old-fashioned oats1 cup
Brown sugar¾ cup
Baking soda1 teaspoon
Soft baking caramels11 oz bag
Heavy cream½ cup
Semi-sweet chocolate chips1 cup

👩‍🍳 Directions:

1. Preheat and Prepare the Pan
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper, leaving extra paper on the sides for easy removal later.

2. Make the Caramel Filling
In a saucepan over medium heat, stir together the caramels and heavy cream. Keep stirring until the caramels melt completely and the mixture turns smooth and creamy. Take off the heat and set aside.

3. Mix the Oat Crumble
In a medium bowl, stir the melted butter, brown sugar, flour, oats, and baking soda until well blended. The mixture will resemble a coarse crumble.

4. Create the Base Layer
Press half of the crumble mixture firmly into the bottom of your prepared pan to form the crust.

5. Pre-Bake the Crust
Place the pan in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.

6. Layer and Assemble
Take the crust out of the oven and immediately scatter the chocolate chips evenly over the hot base. Gently pour the caramel sauce over the chocolate, spreading it to cover the surface. Crumble the remaining oat mixture evenly over the top.

7. Bake to Perfection
Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 18–20 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the caramel layer is bubbling.

8. Cool Completely Before Cutting
Let the Caramelitas cool fully in the pan on a wire rack—this is key for the caramel to set, making it easier to cut into clean, satisfying squares.

🍫 Pro Tip:

For an extra twist, try adding chopped pecans or a pinch of sea salt on top before the final bake!

Enjoy these irresistibly rich, chewy, and decadent Caramelitas—each bite is a perfect blend of sweet satisfaction.
