Cheesy Biscuit Pizza Casserole

This Cheesy Biscuit Pizza Casserole is a playful twist on a family favorite, combining all the best parts of pizza—cheese, sauce, and toppings—into one warm, bubbly bake. It’s the ultimate comfort dish that’s quick to prepare, super filling, and incredibly satisfying.

Why You’ll Love This Dish

Everyone loves pizza—but sometimes, you want something easier to assemble and more filling than a standard pie. That’s where this casserole shines.

Layered with biscuit dough, melty cheese, and your favorite toppings, this bake gives you all the satisfaction of pizza with minimal effort. Think of it as the perfect weeknight dinner alternative to takeout, with just as much flavor and none of the delivery wait time.

Ingredients

  • Refrigerated biscuit dough – Store-bought dough makes this extra convenient. Cut each biscuit into quarters for even layering.
  • Pizza sauce – Use your favorite jarred or homemade sauce.
  • Shredded mozzarella – Melts beautifully and adds that signature cheesy pull.
  • Italian sausage – Cooked and crumbled. Choose mild or spicy, depending on your preference.
  • Pepperoni slices – A must for classic pizza flavor.
  • Sliced black olives – Optional, but adds a nice salty contrast.
  • Chopped green peppers – For freshness and color.
  • Grated Parmesan – A savory finishing touch for extra cheesiness.

Instructions

Step 1: In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage, breaking it into crumbles. Cook until browned, about 9–10 minutes.

Step 2: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.

Step 3: Cut each biscuit into quarters and arrange the pieces evenly in the bottom of the dish.

Step 4: Bake the biscuit base for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven.

Step 5: Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the baked biscuits.

Step 6: Sprinkle with 2 cups of shredded cheese. Add the cooked sausage, pepperoni, olives, and green peppers. Finish with the remaining ½ cup of cheese and Parmesan.

Step 7: Return the dish to the oven and bake for another 15–20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.

Helpful Tips

  • Using Grands biscuits? About 12 pieces should fill a 9×13 pan.
  • Turn this into individual servings by using muffin tins instead of a casserole dish—perfect for picky eaters or parties.
  • Switch up the protein: Ground beef, turkey, chicken, or even a vegetarian version with extra veggies all work great.
  • Add other toppings like mushrooms, onions, jalapeños, or spinach for variety.
  • Try a cheese blend like Monterey Jack, cheddar, or Colby for an extra flavor boost.
