Silky Caramel Custard Pie

This luscious Caramel Custard Pie is a luxurious dessert that combines a buttery pie crust with a velvety, caramel-kissed custard filling. Finished with a rich drizzle of caramel and optional toppings, it’s a sweet, elegant way to end any meal—and it melts in your mouth with every bite.

Ingredients

For the Crust:

IngredientAmount
Pre-made pie crust or homemade shortcrust1 crust
Chopped pecans or walnuts (optional, for added crunch)1/4 cup

For the Custard Filling:

IngredientAmount
Large eggs3
Granulated sugar1 cup
Brown sugar (packed)1/2 cup
Heavy cream or half-and-half1 cup
Milk1/2 cup
Salt1/2 tsp
Vanilla extract1 tsp
Caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)1/2 cup

Toppings (Optional):

  • Extra caramel sauce for drizzling
  • Whipped cream
  • Toasted pecans or flaked coconut

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Oven and Crust
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). If using a pre-made crust, lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish and press it in. If making your own dough, roll it out and fit it into the dish. Sprinkle the base with chopped nuts if you’re adding extra texture.

Step 2: Mix the Custard
In a large bowl, combine the eggs, both sugars, cream, milk, salt, and vanilla. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and consistent. Gently stir in the caramel sauce until it’s fully blended.

Step 3: Fill the Crust
Pour the caramel custard mixture into your prepared crust, smoothing the top if necessary.

Step 4: Bake
Set the pie on a baking sheet to catch drips and help with stability. Bake for 45–50 minutes. The center should be mostly set but still slightly wobbly. To prevent the crust from over-baking, cover the edges with foil halfway through if needed.

Step 5: Cool and Refrigerate
Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack completely. Once it reaches room temperature, place it in the fridge for at least 2 hours—or ideally overnight—to allow it to firm up perfectly.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Slice and serve chilled. Drizzle each piece with caramel sauce, top with a swirl of whipped cream, and sprinkle with toasted pecans or coconut for added crunch and flavor.

Whether it’s for a special event or a quiet night in, this pie brings indulgent sweetness with a creamy twist. Let each slice be a moment of dessert bliss!
