Easy Apple Cake: 5-Minute Prep

Quick & Cozy Apple Cake – Just 5 Minutes of Prep!

This incredibly simple apple cake is a true crowd-pleaser with minimal effort. It comes together in just minutes and bakes into a moist, spice-kissed dessert brimming with tender apples. Whether you’re hosting a fall gathering or just want something sweet on a weeknight, this comforting cake is always the right choice.

Ingredients

For the Cake:

IngredientAmount
All-purpose flour2 cups
Granulated sugar1½ cups
Baking soda1 teaspoon
Ground cinnamon1 teaspoon
Salt½ teaspoon
Large eggs3, lightly beaten
Vegetable oil (or melted butter for richness)1 cup
Pure vanilla extract1 teaspoon
Diced apples (about 3 medium, peeled and cored – Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)3 cups

Optional Toppings:

  • Chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Powdered sugar for finishing

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment for easy removal after baking.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until evenly combined.

3. Stir Together the Wet Ingredients

In a separate medium bowl, blend the beaten eggs, oil (or butter), and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. Combine into a Batter

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just incorporated. The batter will be thick—that’s expected. Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed. If you’re using nuts, either mix them into the batter or sprinkle them on top before baking.

5. Bake the Cake

Transfer the batter to your prepared pan, smoothing the top. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

6. Cool & Serve

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove and transfer to a wire rack to cool fully. Dust with powdered sugar before serving—or enjoy with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent touch.
