Easy Cheddar Cheese Rolls!!!

Quick Cheddar Cheese Rolls

These quick and cheesy rolls are the ultimate comfort snack or side dish, coming together in just minutes with the help of pre-made biscuit dough. Filled with sharp cheddar and baked until golden and melty, they’re a crowd-pleaser you’ll want to make again and again.

Ingredients

For the Rolls:

IngredientAmount
Refrigerated biscuit dough (8-count)1 can (16 oz)
Shredded sharp cheddar cheese1 cup (or more, to taste)
Melted butter2 tbsp
Garlic powder or dried herbs (optional)1 tsp

For Serving:

  • Extra melted butter for brushing (optional)
  • Coarse sea salt or Everything Bagel seasoning (optional)

Directions

Step 1: Heat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or grease it lightly to avoid sticking.

Step 2: Flatten the Biscuits
Open the biscuit dough and separate the individual pieces. On a lightly floured surface, gently press each biscuit into a 1/4-inch-thick round. Be careful not to overwork the dough to keep it soft when baked.

Step 3: Fill with Cheese
Add about 1 to 2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar to the center of each round. If you’re adding flavor boosters like garlic powder or herbs, sprinkle a small amount over the cheese.

Step 4: Shape the Rolls
Bring the edges of each biscuit round up and around the cheese to seal it inside. Pinch the seams closed well so the cheese stays put during baking. Roll each one gently into a ball and place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Leave some space between each roll.

Step 5: Add Butter
Brush the tops of each roll with melted butter. This helps create that beautiful golden crust and adds richness.

Step 6: Bake
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed up and golden on top, and the cheese inside is melted and gooey.

Step 7: Finish & Serve
Remove the rolls and let them sit for a few minutes before serving. If desired, brush again with melted butter for shine and top with sea salt or seasoning for a flavorful finish. Serve warm and enjoy while the cheese is still melty!

Pro Tips

  • Cheese Swaps: Try mixing in other cheeses like Monterey Jack for a smooth melt, Gouda for a nutty note, or Pepper Jack for a spicy kick.
  • Add Herbs: Mix finely chopped herbs into the cheese or sprinkle on top before baking for a gourmet upgrade.
  • Prep Ahead: Assemble ahead of time and store in the fridge (covered) for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Freezing: Freeze fully baked rolls on a tray, then transfer to an airtight container. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10–15 minutes or microwave until warm.
