Farmer’s-Style Casserole


A hearty breakfast casserole that’s perfect for busy mornings, this dish layers crispy hash browns, savory ham, and melted cheese, all set in a rich, flavorful egg custard. It can be prepared the night before for easy baking in the morning.

Farmer’s-Style Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Oven
Set the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2: Layer Ingredients
Spread the hash browns evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Add the cheese, diced ham, and green onions in layers on top.

Step 3: Make the Egg Mixture
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, evaporated milk, garlic salt, and black pepper. Pour the mixture evenly over the layered ingredients.

Step 4: Bake

  • For immediate baking: Bake uncovered for about 1 hour 15 minutes, until the center is firm.
  • For make-ahead: Cover and refrigerate overnight, then bake uncovered for about 1 hour 30 minutes, until fully set.
