This traditional vanilla pound cake is a beloved dessert celebrated for its buttery richness and soft, delicate texture. Ideal for tea time or any special gathering, this recipe guarantees a moist and flavorful cake every time.

Vanilla Pound Cake Recipe
Ingredients:

  • Unsalted butter, softened — 1 cup (2 sticks)
  • Granulated sugar — 1 ½ cups
  • Large eggs, at room temperature — 4
  • Vanilla extract — 2 teaspoons
  • All-purpose flour — 2 cups
  • Baking powder — 1 teaspoon
  • Salt — ½ teaspoon
  • Whole milk, room temperature — ½ cup

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients and milk to the wet mixture, alternating between them, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing it to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve and enjoy!
