👩‍🍳 Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Crust – Your Flavorful Base

Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly greasing a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour, melted butter, sugar, and salt until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Press this mixture evenly into the base of the baking dish.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the crust turns a light golden color.

Step 2: Make the Pecan Filling – Sweet and Nutty Goodness

While the crust is in the oven, prepare the filling.
In a clean bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Fold in the chopped pecans.
Once the crust is out of the oven, pour the pecan filling evenly over it.
Return the dish to the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the filling is just set.

Step 3: Cook the Coconut Topping – A Tropical Finish

As the bars bake, prepare the topping.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine coconut, evaporated milk, butter, brown sugar, and vanilla.
Stir continuously until everything is melted and well combined—this should take about 5 minutes.
When the bars come out of the oven, spread the warm coconut mixture evenly over the top.

🥄 To Serve

Let the bars cool fully in the baking dish. Once set, cut into squares or rectangles.
These bars are ideal for holiday platters, potlucks, or just treating yourself with something rich and satisfying.
