Pecan Pie Cobbler
This decadent Pecan Pie Cobbler combines all the gooey richness of a traditional pecan pie with the warm, fluffy comfort of a cobbler topping. Easy to assemble and incredibly indulgent, it’s the perfect dessert for gatherings, holidays, or whenever you’re craving something truly satisfying.
Ingredients:
Ingredient | Quantity |
---|---|
Unsalted butter | 6 tablespoons |
Pecans, roughly chopped | 1 1/2 cups |
Self-rising flour | 1 1/2 cups |
Granulated sugar | 1 1/2 cups |
Whole milk | 2/3 cup |
Vanilla extract | 1 teaspoon |
Brown sugar, packed | 1 1/2 cups |
Hot water | 1 1/2 cups |
Instructions:
1. Preheat & Melt Butter:
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and put it in the oven until fully melted. Remove the dish once the butter has liquefied.
2. Add the Pecans:
Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the melted butter. Set the dish aside while you prepare the batter.
3. Mix the Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, granulated sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and fully incorporated.
4. Pour the Batter:
Carefully pour the batter over the pecans and butter in the baking dish. Spread it gently into an even layer without disturbing the pecans.
5. Layer Sugar & Water:
Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the surface of the batter. Without stirring, slowly pour the hot water over the top to keep the layers distinct.
6. Bake:
Transfer the dish to the oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the cake portion comes out clean.
7. Cool Before Serving:
Let the cobbler rest for at least 15 minutes after baking. This cooling period helps the gooey pecan filling set up properly.
