Don’t throw away those overripe bananas — turn them into something delicious instead! With just four simple ingredients, you can create a rich, flavorful banana treat that’s perfect as a snack or an easy homemade dessert. It comes together quickly and requires almost no effort!
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Overripe bananas, mashed | 3 |
| Granulated or coconut sugar | 1 cup (200 g) |
| Coconut milk (or whole milk) | ½ cup (120 ml) |
| Butter or ghee | 1 tablespoon |
Step 1: Mash the Bananas
Peel the overripe bananas and mash them in a bowl until mostly smooth — a few small chunks are fine for extra texture.
Step 2: Cook the Mixture
In a nonstick skillet, combine the mashed bananas, sugar, and coconut milk. Mix well.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly so the mixture doesn’t stick.
Continue to cook for 10–15 minutes, until it thickens and starts pulling away from the sides of the pan.
Step 3: Add the Butter
Stir in the butter or ghee and continue cooking for 2–3 more minutes. The mixture should look glossy and smooth. Remove from heat once done.
Step 4: Shape and Cool
Lightly grease a tray or plate with a bit of butter. Pour in the banana mixture and spread it evenly.
Allow it to cool completely at room temperature or place it in the fridge to set faster.
Step 5: Cut and Serve
Once firm, cut into squares, bars, or any desired shape. Serve and enjoy your naturally sweet, homemade banana dessert!
