Ingredients:

For the Cereal Mixture:

IngredientQuantity
Honeycomb Cereal5 cups
Brown Sugar⅔ cup
Butter½ cup (1 stick)
Corn Syrup⅓ cup
Vanilla Extract1 teaspoon
Baking Soda¼ teaspoon

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

IngredientQuantity
Granulated Sugar½ cup
Cinnamon1 ½ teaspoons

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the cereal: Pour the Honeycomb cereal into a large bowl and set aside.
  3. Make the caramel mixture: In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Stirring constantly, bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, continue cooking for 1 more minute, stirring continuously.
  4. Add vanilla and baking soda: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. The mixture will bubble and expand.
  5. Coat the cereal: Immediately pour the hot caramel mixture over the Honeycomb cereal in the large bowl. Toss gently but thoroughly to ensure all the cereal pieces are evenly coated.
  6. Prepare cinnamon sugar: In a small bowl, sift together the granulated sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
  7. Coat with cinnamon sugar: Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the coated cereal. Toss again gently but thoroughly until all the pieces are coated with the cinnamon sugar.
  8. Bake: Transfer the coated cereal mixture to the prepared baking sheet, spreading it out in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even crisping.
  9. Cool and break: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the churro snacks to cool completely on the baking sheet. Once cooled, break the cereal into bite-sized pieces.
  10. Store: Store the churro snacks in an airtight container to maintain their crispness.

Enjoy your sweet and crunchy Churro Snacks!
