I bagged this up and gave it out as treats for Christmas.

Craving a snack that’s both simple and irresistible? These Churro Snacks are just what you need! They take inspiration from traditional churros but add a fun, crunchy cereal twist. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or a sweet afternoon pick-me-up, this treat is super easy to make and even more fun to eat.

A crunchy, sugary delight that’s ideal for snacking or sharing.

Ingredients:

IngredientQuantity
Honeycomb cereal5 cups
Brown sugar⅔ cup
Butter½ cup (1 stick)
Corn syrup⅓ cup
Vanilla extract1 teaspoon
Baking soda¼ teaspoon
Granulated sugar½ cup
Ground cinnamon1 ½ teaspoons

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Get the cereal ready:
Place the Honeycomb cereal in a large mixing bowl. Set it aside while you make the coating.
  3. Cook the caramel mixture:
In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup.
Stir over medium heat until the mixture starts to boil. Let it boil for 1 additional minute.
  4. Mix in vanilla and baking soda:
Take the pan off the heat and quickly stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. The mixture will foam and rise—this is normal!
  5. Coat the cereal:
Pour the hot caramel mixture over the cereal and toss gently until all pieces are evenly coated.
  6. Add the cinnamon sugar:
In a separate bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the caramel-coated cereal and toss again to distribute the flavor.
  7. Bake:
Spread the coated cereal in an even layer on your prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 8 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even baking.
  8. Cool and enjoy:
Let the mixture cool completely on the baking sheet. Once cool, break it into snackable pieces.
Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
