Instant Pot Spaghetti and Meatballs

Enjoy a comforting bowl of spaghetti and meatballs with minimal hassle, thanks to this convenient Instant Pot recipe. Everything cooks in one pot, resulting in flavorful pasta, rich sauce, and easy cleanup.

Ingredients:

IngredientAmount
Olive oil1 tbsp
Chopped onion½ medium
Ground beef1 lb
Garlic powder2 tsp
Salt and pepperAs needed
Minced garlic3 tsp
Italian seasoning1 tbsp
Pasta sauce1 jar (about 24 oz)
Water3 cups
Spaghetti noodles1 lb
Diced tomatoes1 can (14.5 oz)

Instructions:

  1. Sauté Onion and Beef: Activate the “Sauté” mode on your Instant Pot and heat the olive oil. Add chopped onion and cook for 3–5 minutes until softened. Mix in ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Sauté until the beef is browned and cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat, transfer the mixture to a bowl, and set aside.
  2. Layer the Pasta: Switch off the “Sauté” function. Pour 1.5 cups of water into the bottom of the Instant Pot. Break the spaghetti in half and lay it in a crisscross pattern to help prevent clumping.
  3. Add Sauce and Tomatoes: Pour the pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, and the remaining 1.5 cups of water over the pasta. Ensure the noodles are completely covered with liquid.
  4. Pressure Cook: Secure the lid and set the valve to “Sealing.” Cook on “Pressure Cook” or “Manual” at high pressure for 5 minutes.
  5. Release Steam: Let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then switch the valve to “Venting” to release the remaining pressure quickly.
  6. Combine and Serve: Open the lid carefully. Add the reserved beef mixture back into the pot. Stir thoroughly to combine the meat, sauce, and pasta. Serve warm.
