🍅 Italian Crescent Casserole Recipe

Ingredients

👩‍🍳 Directions

1. Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat a baking dish with nonstick spray or oil.

2. Brown the Sausage
Warm olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and red bell pepper until tender. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it apart as it cooks. Once browned, drain any excess grease.

3. Add Greens and Flavor
Stir in the spinach and let it wilt. Season the mixture with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Mix well, then remove from heat.

4. Prepare the Creamy Mixture
In a separate bowl, blend softened cream cheese with a pinch of salt and pepper. Combine this creamy mixture with the sausage and spinach filling until evenly mixed.

5. Build the Casserole Base
Unroll the crescent dough and press it into the baking dish to form the crust. Spread half of the marinara sauce over the dough. Spoon the sausage filling on top, then sprinkle with a generous layer of mozzarella.

6. Add the Topping
Place another sheet of crescent dough over the filling. Spread the remaining marinara sauce across the top and finish with more mozzarella.

7. Bake Until Golden
Transfer to the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crescent crust turns golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

8. Serve and Savor
Let it cool slightly before cutting into slices. Each bite brings you flaky pastry layers, creamy filling, and irresistible Italian comfort — a dish you’ll want to make again and again.
