My nana swears by this recipe! Doesn’t buy this stuff at the store anymore

This recipe utilizes a unique method of breadmaking directly within a resealable bag, minimizing mess and effort. The result is a simple yet satisfying loaf of bread.

Ingredients:

Rapid-rise yeast1 packet (0.25 ounce)
Warm water (110°F/45°C)1 cup
Olive oil3 tablespoons
Salt1 1/2 teaspoons

Instructions:

  1. Combine initial ingredients: In a large resealable plastic bag, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, and yeast. Add warm water and seal the bag tightly.
  2. Activate yeast: Mix the bag’s contents by gently squishing with your hands until well blended. Let it rest for 10 minutes to allow the yeast to activate.
  3. Add remaining ingredients: Open the bag and add 1 more cup of flour, olive oil, and salt. Seal the bag again and mix thoroughly by kneading the bag with your hands.
  4. Add remaining flour: Add the remaining 1 cup of flour to the bag, seal it, and continue kneading until the dough is evenly mixed and smooth.
  5. Knead on surface: Remove the dough from the bag and place it on a lightly floured surface. Knead for another 5-10 minutes until the dough is elastic and smooth.
  6. Shape and rise: Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan. Cover it with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
  7. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
