Of all the pies I’ve ever made, this is always the first one gone! Most people have never tried it before and once they do they can’t get enough!

🥧 Pecan Cream Pie

Rich, creamy, and loaded with toasted pecans, this pie is a luxurious dessert that’s both comforting and elegant. With a silky vanilla custard filling layered over crunchy pecans in a buttery crust, it’s the perfect treat for gatherings or cozy evenings at home.

Ingredients:

IngredientQuantity
Pre-baked pie crust1
Chopped pecans1 cup
Heavy cream1 cup
Whole milk1 cup
Granulated sugar¾ cup
Cornstarch¼ cup
Egg yolks4 large
Unsalted butter2 tablespoons
Vanilla extract1 teaspoon
Salt¼ teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Crust:
Begin with a fully baked and cooled pie crust. Use a homemade version or a pre-made crust baked according to package directions. Let it cool completely.
  2. Toast the Pecans:
Spread the chopped pecans on a baking sheet and toast in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 8–10 minutes, until fragrant and slightly golden. Allow them to cool.
  3. Make the Cream Filling:
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, sugar, cornstarch, egg yolks, and salt until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens and reaches a gentle boil—this should take 8–10 minutes.
  4. Add Flavoring:
Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until fully incorporated and smooth.
  5. Assemble the Pie:
Spread the cooled toasted pecans evenly across the base of the cooled crust. Pour the warm custard filling on top, ensuring the pecans are completely covered. Smooth the surface with a spatula.
  6. Chill and Serve:
Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or until completely set. When ready to serve, slice into portions. For a special touch, garnish each slice with whipped cream and a few extra toasted pecans.

This Pecan Cream Pie is sure to impress with its luscious texture and nutty, buttery depth—ideal for holidays or anytime you want a crowd-pleasing dessert. 🌰🍰
