Oh boy, you better write this one down!’ -The first words out of my husband’s mouth after tasting this haha

Classic Peach Cobbler
This timeless peach cobbler is a wonderfully simple dessert that delivers big flavor with just a few pantry staples. Thanks to self-rising flour, the crust turns beautifully crisp as it soaks up the buttery goodness and sweet peach syrup during baking. The result? A warm, golden, and irresistibly comforting treat.

🛒 Ingredients

IngredientAmount
Self-rising flour1 cup
Melted unsalted butter½ cup
White sugar¾ cup (plus extra for topping)
Canned sliced peaches (in syrup)9 oz (undrained)
Ground cinnamon (optional)For sprinkling

👨‍🍳 How to Make It

Step 1: Preheat & Prepare (5 minutes)
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.

Step 2: Add the Butter (2 minutes)
Pour melted butter into the baking dish, tilting the dish as needed to coat the bottom evenly.

Step 3: Combine Dry Ingredients (2 minutes)
In a bowl, mix the self-rising flour with ¾ cup of sugar. Stir until well combined.

Step 4: Layer Without Stirring (2 minutes)
Evenly sprinkle the flour-sugar mixture over the melted butter. Do not mix—the layers are meant to stay separate at this point.

Step 5: Add the Peaches (2 minutes)
Open the can of peaches and pour the fruit and syrup over the flour mixture. Again, resist stirring.

Step 6: Bake (45–50 minutes)
Place the dish in your preheated oven and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crisp, and the peach filling is bubbling around the edges.

Step 7: Serve Warm
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Sprinkle with a bit of extra sugar and a touch of cinnamon if desired. Serve warm on its own—or better yet, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

🍑 Tips & Serving Ideas

  • No self-rising flour? Combine 1 cup all-purpose flour with 1½ teaspoons baking powder and ¼ teaspoon salt as a substitute.
  • Make it your own: Add a splash of vanilla extract to the peaches or a pinch of nutmeg with the cinnamon for a spiced twist.
  • Perfect pairings: This cobbler is best served warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
