Oven Pancakes Recipe

This recipe offers a simple way to make a large, oven-baked pancake that’s perfect for sharing and can be topped with your favorite sweet or savory additions.

Ingredients:

IngredientQuantity
Large eggs4
Whole milk4 1/4 cups
Unsalted butter, melted7 tablespoons
Granulated sugar1 tablespoon
Salt1 teaspoon
All-purpose flour2 cups + 3 tablespoons

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 480º F (250º C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it well and lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the 4 large eggs and 4 1/4 cups of whole milk until they are thoroughly combined.
  3. Add the 7 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt to the egg and milk mixture. Whisk again to incorporate these ingredients.
  4. Sift the 2 cups plus 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour directly into the wet ingredients. Continue to mix the batter until it is smooth and there are no large lumps of flour remaining.
  5. Pour the pancake batter into the prepared 9×13 inch baking dish, ensuring it is spread evenly across the bottom.
  6. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes at 480º F (250º C).
  7. After 15 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 430º F (220º C) and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the pancake is deeply golden brown on top.
  8. Remove the baked pancake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 5 minutes. You will notice that the pancake will deflate slightly as it cools.
  9. Slice the oven pancake and serve warm with a dollop of Greek yogurt, a drizzle of honey, and your favorite preserves. Enjoy!
