Quick bread recipe: warm and tasty, it’s very good

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast
    In a large bowl, mix the lukewarm water, sugar, and dried yeast. Stir gently and let it rest for 5–10 minutes until a foamy layer forms on top.
  2. Combine the Ingredients
    Add the milk to the yeast mixture and stir. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt, then gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring until the dough comes together.
  3. Knead the Dough
    Add the softened butter and knead on a floured surface for 3–4 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. If it’s too sticky, sprinkle in a little more flour as needed.
  4. Let It Rise
    Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a clean tea towel and set in a warm spot for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Shape and Proof Again
    Divide the dough into four equal pieces. Shape each into a ball and place into a greased loaf pan or baking dish. Cover and allow them to rise for another 20 minutes.
  6. Bake to Perfection
    Preheat the oven to 190°C (374°F). For a soft crust, place a small oven-safe dish of water on the bottom rack to create steam. Bake the bread for 25–30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
  7. Cool and Serve
    Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy your fresh, homemade bread warm with butter or your favorite spread!
