Orange bell peppers, thinly sliced2

👨‍🍳 Directions

  1. Brown the Sausages
    Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat and add the oil. Brown the sausages on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Cook the Onions
    In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sauté for 5 minutes until they soften.
  3. Add Peppers and Garlic
    Stir in the bell peppers and garlic, cooking for another 3 minutes until fragrant and just tender.
  4. Make the Sauce
    Add the chopped tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low, then season with salt and pepper.
  5. Simmer Together
    Return the sausages to the pan, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes until sausages are cooked through and the sauce thickens.

🍽️ Serving Suggestion
Serve two sausages per plate topped with the pepper and onion mixture and plenty of sauce. This goes great with crusty bread, creamy mashed potatoes, or fluffy rice for a filling dinner.
