Soft and Fluffy Cinnamon-Walnut Rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting

A timeless, cozy recipe for homemade cinnamon rolls—ideal for a warm breakfast or a sweet afternoon indulgence.


Ingredients

Ground cinnamon4–5 tablespoons

Instructions

Make the Dough:
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs. In a separate bowl, beat the egg with the milk. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry mix, stirring until a soft dough forms.

Roll Out the Dough:
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a large rectangle about ¼ inch thick.

Add the Filling:
Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture generously across the surface.

Shape the Rolls:
Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log.

Cut the Rolls:
Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 12 even pieces.

Bake the Rolls:
Place the rolls into a greased baking dish, spacing them slightly apart. Cover with a clean towel and let them rise in a warm spot for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes until they turn golden.

Serve:
Allow the rolls to cool a little before serving. Drizzle with icing if you like.
