👨‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Sauté the Onion
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook for about 5 minutes, until softened and fragrant.
Step 2: Brown the Beef
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
- Break up the meat with a spatula as it cooks for even browning.
Step 3: Add Seasoning & Simmer
- Stir in taco seasoning and tomato paste; cook for 1 minute to toast the spices.
- Pour in the canned tomatoes and beef broth.
- Bring to a gentle simmer and let cook for 10 minutes so the sauce thickens and flavors combine.
Step 4: Cook the Pasta
- While the sauce simmers, bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add spaghetti and cook according to package directions (usually 10 minutes).
- Drain well and set aside.
Step 5: Combine & Finish
- Toss the drained spaghetti into the meat sauce and stir until fully coated.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Cover the skillet with a lid and let the cheese melt for about 2 minutes.
