This comforting Baked Shrimp Casserole features juicy shrimp baked in a smooth, velvety sauce infused with thyme and paprika, layered with melted cheddar and finished off with a crisp, buttery breadcrumb topping.

Ingredients

INGREDIENTQUANTITY
Shrimp (peeled and deveined)1 pound (450 g)
Butter (for sauce)2 tablespoons
Garlic (minced)2 cloves
Chicken broth1 cup (240 ml)
Heavy cream1 cup (240 ml)
Dried thyme1 teaspoon
Paprika1 teaspoon
Salt and pepperTo taste
Grated cheddar cheese1 cup (100 g)
Grated Parmesan cheese1/4 cup (25 g)
Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Breadcrumbs1 cup (100 g)
Melted butter (for topping)2 tablespoons

Directions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Warm your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with butter or nonstick spray to ensure easy cleanup later.

Step 2: Make Garlic Butter
In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of melted butter (for the sauce) and 2 minced garlic cloves.

Step 3: Arrange the Shrimp
Spread the peeled and deveined shrimp evenly across the bottom of your prepared dish, forming a single layer.

Step 4: Prepare the Cream Sauce
In another bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, heavy cream, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour this creamy mixture evenly over the shrimp so that it coats everything.

Step 5: Add the Cheese
Sprinkle the grated cheddar and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the shrimp mixture, creating a rich, cheesy layer.

Step 6: Mix the Topping
Combine the breadcrumbs with 2 tablespoons of melted butter (for the topping) in a small bowl. Stir until the crumbs are evenly coated, then spread the mixture over the top of the casserole.

Step 7: Bake
Place the dish in your preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top turns golden brown and the sauce underneath is bubbling gently. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Step 8: Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top for color and freshness. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Baked Shrimp Casserole!
