Just discovered a new way to cook brats, and it’s a total game-changer!

This hearty dish features bratwursts simmered in beer and beef broth with sweet, caramelized onions and tender apples, finished in the oven.
Ingredients:
| INGREDIENTS | AMOUNT |
| Olive oil | 2 tablespoons |
| Butter | 2 tablespoons |
| Large onions, thinly sliced | 2 |
| Apples, cored and sliced | 2 |
| Garlic cloves, minced | 3 |
| Bratwursts | 6 |
| Beer | 1 cup |
| Beef broth | 1 cup |
| Dijon mustard | 2 tablespoons |
| Salt and pepper | To taste |
| Fresh parsley (optional) | For garnish |
How To Make Oven Braised Beer Brats with Caramelized Onions and Apples:
Step 1: Preheat Oven and Prep Pan: Preheat your oven to 350F (175C). In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat the 2 tablespoons olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat.
Step 2: Caramelize Onions and Apples: Add the 2 sliced onions and 2 sliced apples to the skillet, cooking until they are soft and golden brown (caramelized), about 20-25 minutes.
Step 3: Add Garlic: Stir in the 3 minced garlic cloves and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 4: Combine Brats and Liquid: Nestle the 6 bratwursts among the onions and apples in the skillet. Pour in the 1 cup beer and 1 cup beef broth, ensuring the brats are mostly covered.
Step 5: Season Sauce: Stir in the 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, and season the liquid with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 6: Braise: Bring the liquid mixture to a simmer on the stovetop, then transfer the uncovered skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 30-40 minutes until the brats are cooked through (internal temperature of 165F or 74C) and have absorbed the flavors.
Step 7: Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving if desired.
