5-Ingredient Apple Dumplings

Effortless 5-Ingredient Apple Dumplings
These Apple Dumplings are pure magic—deceptively simple, wildly delicious, and made with just five pantry-friendly ingredients. Flaky crescent roll dough hugs sweet apple pie filling, all baked in a buttery brown sugar sauce and finished with fizzy lemon-lime soda for a crisp, caramelized touch. It’s a cozy dessert that comes together fast and disappears even faster!
Ingredients:
Ingredient | Quantity |
---|---|
Refrigerated crescent rolls | 2 (8-ounce) cans |
Apple pie filling | 2 (20-ounce) cans |
Unsalted butter | 2 sticks (1 cup) |
Brown sugar | 1 cup |
Lemon-lime soda | 1 (12-ounce) can |
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat and Prep
Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly butter or spray a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Fill the Dough
Open the crescent roll cans and separate the dough into triangles. Spoon a small portion of the apple pie filling onto the wide end of each triangle. Roll the dough over the filling, starting at the wide end and working toward the point. Seal the edges to prevent the filling from escaping during baking. Arrange the rolled dumplings seam-side down in the baking dish.
Step 3: Make the Sauce
Melt the butter in a medium mixing bowl. Stir in the brown sugar and whisk until mostly dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
Step 4: Add the Finishing Touch
Pour the buttery brown sugar sauce evenly over the dumplings. Gently pour the lemon-lime soda around and slightly over the dumplings—this will help the sauce bubble and caramelize as it bakes.
Step 5: Bake to Perfection
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the sauce is thick and bubbling.
Step 6: Serve and Savor
Let cool for a few minutes before serving. These dumplings are heavenly on their own but even better paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
