A New Chapter for Prince Louis and His Siblings

Royal Kids Head Back to School Amid Fresh Beginnings

As the school year kicks off, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have returned to Lambrook School—a milestone moment that marks their final year together as classmates. Prince George, now 12, will complete Year Eight at the co-ed prep school in Berkshire before transitioning to secondary education next year, with Eton College among the top contenders for his next chapter.

A Quiet Summer Before the Term Begins

The family enjoyed a largely private summer at their Norfolk retreat, Anmer Hall. While George and Charlotte made a rare public appearance at the Wimbledon finals, Louis opted out of that particular outing—though he charmed onlookers at Trooping the Colour and a church event in Scotland in August.

A New Home That Reflects a New Season

As they settle back into school life, William and Kate are also preparing for a significant move. The family will leave their four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage and relocate to Forest Lodge—an eight-bedroom Georgian residence in Windsor Great Park. Funded privately and rented through the Crown Estate, Forest Lodge is poised to become the family’s “forever home,” one they hope to occupy even when William becomes king.

This move symbolizes a fresh start after a challenging period, including Princess Kate’s cancer recovery and broader royal transitions. It also highlights their intent to lead a more grounded and relatable royal life—shunning live-in staff and palace grandeur in favor of proximity, privacy, and normalcy

A Childhood Rooted in Stability, Not Spectacle

Royal commentator Jennie Bond has explained that William is striving to raise his children with a sense of normalcy he wasn’t afforded. He’s told associates he wants “royalty with a small ‘r’”—a modern parenting approach that avoids the trappings of traditional hierarchy and fosters closeness, not division
