🌟 What Are Buñuelos?
Buñuelos are a classic dessert made from simple, everyday ingredients. Though the base recipe is straightforward, different regions across Mexico and Latin America have their own unique variations and touches.

  • Baking powder — 1½ tsp
  • Salt — ½ tsp
  • Lukewarm water — ¾ cup
  • Oil (plus extra for frying) — 4 tbsp
  • Sugar — ½ cup
  • Cinnamon — 1 tbsp

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Prepare the dough
In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the warm water and 4 tablespoons of oil, stirring until a dough forms. Knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Get ready to fry
Place paper towels on a plate for draining. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Heat oil in a pan to around 350°F (175°C).

Shape and fry
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten into thin discs. Fry each one for about 1 minute per side until golden and crisp.

Final touch
Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and immediately coat with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
