Homemade Krispy Kreme–Style Donuts

Instructions

1. Proof the Yeast

In a bowl, combine the warm milk and water with a small amount of the sugar and yeast. Let the mixture rest until it becomes foamy and bubbly.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, blend the flour, salt, and softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. Form the Dough

Add the remaining sugar, egg, and activated yeast mixture to the flour blend. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth, soft, and elastic.
