Instructions

1. Prepare the chicken

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Grease a baking dish lightly and place the chicken in a single layer. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if desired.

2. Add the creamy topping

Spread the cream soup evenly across the chicken, making sure each piece is covered to help keep it tender while baking.

3. Layer the cheese

Place Swiss cheese slices on top of the chicken. Cover as much of the surface as possible so the cheese melts evenly during baking. If using shredded cheese, sprinkle it across the top.

4. Bake

Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

5. Serve

Allow the dish to rest for a few minutes before serving. It pairs perfectly with rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes for a simple comfort-food meal.
