I made a double batch for my gathering, and it still disappeared before anything else on the table! Everyone kept asking for the recipe

Candied Kielbasa Bites

These Candied Kielbasa Bites are a delicious blend of sweet, smoky, and tangy flavors. Tender pieces of kielbasa are coated in a simple brown sugar glaze with ketchup and horseradish, then baked until the sauce becomes thick, glossy, and caramelized.

The result is a flavorful appetizer with slightly crisp edges and a rich, sticky coating. With only a few ingredients and minimal preparation, these bite-sized sausages are an easy choice for parties, celebrations, and casual entertaining.

Ingredients

IngredientQuantity
Kielbasa sausage2 lbs
Brown sugar1 cup
Ketchup½ cup
Prepared horseradish¼ cup

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Set the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat a large baking or casserole dish with cooking spray or a little oil.

Step 2: Cut the Kielbasa

Slice the kielbasa into rounds about 1 inch thick.

For deeper flavor, lightly score the surface of each piece with a few shallow cuts. Avoid cutting completely through the sausage so the pieces remain intact.

Step 3: Combine the Ingredients

Arrange the kielbasa slices in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the sausage, then add the ketchup and prepared horseradish.

Toss thoroughly until each piece is covered with the sweet and tangy mixture.

Step 4: Bake Until Caramelized

Place the dish in the oven and bake uncovered for 60–90 minutes. Stir the sausage every 20 minutes, making sure the pieces remain coated in the glaze.

Continue baking until the sauce is thick and sticky and the kielbasa develops caramelized, golden-brown edges.

Step 5: Cool Slightly and Serve

Remove the kielbasa from the oven and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes. Spoon the pieces onto a serving platter and pour any extra glaze over the top.

Serve warm with toothpicks for easy serving.

Serving Ideas

Serve these sweet and savory kielbasa bites alongside crackers, cheese, fresh vegetables, or other appetizers. They make an easy addition to buffet tables, party spreads, and snack platters.
