Ingredients

  • 2 pounds smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced into bite-sized rounds
  • 1 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9 × 13-inch glass baking dish.
  2. Make the glaze: In a medium bowl, combine the apricot preserves and barbecue sauce. Stir until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
  3. Coat the sausage: Place the sliced sausage rounds in the prepared baking dish. Pour the apricot-barbecue mixture over the top and toss well to coat every piece.
  4. Bake until caramelized: Bake uncovered for 35–45 minutes, stirring once or twice during cooking. The sauce should become thick and bubbly, with lightly caramelized edges on the sausage.
  5. Rest and serve: Let the sausage bites cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Arrange them on a platter with toothpicks for easy serving, or offer them warm straight from the baking dish.
