Maid-Rite Style Beef Sliders

Maid-Rite Sliders

Maid-Rite Sliders bring the nostalgic flavor of a classic Midwestern loose-meat sandwich into a delicious, easy-to-make baked slider. These bite-sized sandwiches feature soft slider rolls filled with finely crumbled seasoned ground beef, tender onions, and plenty of melted cheddar cheese. A light coating of melted butter gives the tops a beautiful golden finish as they bake in the oven.

What makes Maid-Rite sandwiches special is their loose-meat filling. Instead of traditional burger patties, the ground beef is cooked into small, tender crumbles with onions and a savory blend of seasonings. Beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and a touch of brown sugar create a flavorful mixture that’s juicy without being overly saucy.

For this convenient version, the beef filling is spread over connected slider buns, topped with cheddar cheese, and covered with the remaining rolls. Everything bakes together in one dish until the cheese is melted and the buns are lightly toasted.

These sliders are perfect for family dinners, game-day parties, potlucks, or casual get-togethers. They’re easy to prepare ahead of time, simple to serve, and delicious enough to become a regular favorite.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1. Prepare the oven and baking dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9 × 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Step 2. Cook the beef and onions

Place the ground beef and finely diced onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions become soft, breaking the meat into small, even crumbles as it cooks.

Step 3. Remove excess grease

Carefully drain most of the excess fat from the skillet, leaving a little behind to help keep the beef mixture moist and flavorful.

Step 4. Add the seasonings

Pour in the beef broth and add the Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir everything together until the beef is evenly coated.

Step 5. Simmer the filling

Lower the heat to medium-low and allow the mixture to simmer for 8–10 minutes. Stir occasionally until most of the liquid has been absorbed and the beef is flavorful and moist without being watery.

Step 6. Prepare the slider buns

Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the entire package of slider rolls horizontally, keeping the individual buns connected. Separate the top and bottom portions.

Step 7. Arrange the bottom buns

Place the bottom half of the connected slider buns into the prepared baking dish, arranging them evenly.

Step 8. Add the beef filling
