Poor Man’s Treats Recipe

Poor Man’s Treats

These humble little snacks are irresistibly easy to make, combining the crunch of crackers, the creaminess of peanut butter, and the sweet gooeyness of toasted marshmallows. They’re the perfect quick fix for a sweet craving using just a few pantry staples.

Ingredients

IngredientAmount
Ritz or saltine crackers12
Creamy peanut butter½ cup
Regular-sized marshmallows12

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prepare
Set your oven to the broil setting. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking. Set the tray aside.

Step 2: Assemble the Snacks
Spread about 1 teaspoon of peanut butter onto each of the 12 crackers. Press one marshmallow gently on top of the peanut butter on each cracker.

Step 3: Toast Under the Broiler
Arrange the prepared crackers on the lined baking sheet. Place them under the broiler and toast for 30 seconds to 1 minute—just until the marshmallows puff up and turn golden brown. Keep a close eye on them, as marshmallows can burn quickly!

Step 4: Cool & Enjoy
Take the tray out of the oven and let the treats cool for a minute or two—they’ll be hot and gooey. Serve warm and enjoy these sweet, crunchy, and comforting bites right away!
