These were such a delight! My first time making them and they were a hit!

Caramelized Cinnamon Puff Pastry Swirls

These caramelized cinnamon puff pastry swirls are a fast, flaky take on the nostalgic fair treat. Made with buttery layers of puff pastry, a generous cinnamon-sugar coating, and a crisp golden finish, they’re an easy dessert or snack that’s as fun to make as it is to eat.

Ingredients:

IngredientQuantity
Puff pastry (thawed)1 package (2 sheets)
Granulated sugar1 cup
Ground cinnamon2 tablespoons
Unsalted butter (melted)¼ cup

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

2. Mix the Coating:
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Stir until evenly mixed.

3. Roll Out the Pastry:
Place one sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Roll it into a thin rectangle, about 1/8 inch thick. Brush the surface with melted butter, then evenly sprinkle half the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top. Press gently to help it stick.

4. Shape the Swirls:
Starting at one long edge, roll the pastry tightly toward the center. Then roll from the other long edge to meet in the middle, forming a double-scroll. It should look like a heart or palm leaf shape from the end.

5. Slice and Space:
Cut the log into 1/2-inch slices using a sharp knife. Place the pieces cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, leaving room between each to expand.

6. Repeat and Bake:
Repeat with the second puff pastry sheet and the remaining sugar mixture. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden, crisp, and caramelized.

7. Cool and Enjoy:
Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm with a cup of coffee or cocoa!
