She recently celebrated her engagement to 66-year-old Aparecido “Jaco” Dias Jacob, showing the world that a 40-year age gap is no barrier when it comes to true connection and companionship.
A Bond Built on Heart
Their love story began three years ago in a Brazilian nursing home, where they first met and quickly formed a deep emotional connection. Since then, Valda and Jaco have become inseparable, building a relationship full of affection and care.
“I fell in love with him,” Valda said with a smile. “I care for him deeply. If he were to pass away, I wouldn’t want to go on.”
Jaco shares the same devotion. “The moment I laid eyes on Valda, I was smitten. She brings joy into my life,” he said. Their affection is a beautiful reminder that love is felt with the heart—not measured by age.
Choosing Love in the Face of Concern
Although doctors advised against a wedding due to Valda’s health, the couple’s devotion was too strong to ignore. Thanks to the help of a volunteer group known as the Project of Dreams, the nursing home organized a heartwarming engagement celebration to honor their love.
The celebration was joyful and touching. Over 150 people attended, music filled the air, and guests enjoyed a stunning four-tier cake. It was a night filled with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
A Joyful Celebration of Devotion
Valda looked radiant in a soft gray dress adorned with pearls, her hair and makeup elegantly done. Jaco wore a classic suit and tie, standing proudly by her side. They exchanged rings and pledged their love and loyalty to one another. The moment was sealed with a tender kiss, drawing cheers and applause from the crowd.
Although a formal wedding may not happen, this engagement represents a powerful commitment. “I wish I could do everything a wife does—cook for Jaco, wash his clothes, care for him every day,” Valda shared lovingly.
Jaco, equally moved, reflected on their journey. “I proposed to her because we always believed in our future together. For now, this engagement is a meaningful milestone for both of us.”
