Ingredients
Ingredient | Quantity |
---|---|
Ground beef | 2 pounds |
Onion, chopped | 1 medium |
Garlic cloves, minced | 3 |
Condensed cream of mushroom soup | 1 can (10.5 oz) |
Milk | 1 cup |
Salt | 1 teaspoon |
Black pepper | ½ teaspoon |
Thinly sliced potatoes | 4 cups |
Shredded cheddar cheese | 1½ cups |
Worcestershire sauce | 1 tablespoon |
Olive oil | 1 tablespoon |
Instructions
1. Sauté Onion and Garlic
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is soft and aromatic.
2. Brown the Beef
Add ground beef to the skillet with the onion and garlic. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
3. Mix in the Slow Cooker
Transfer the beef mixture to the slow cooker. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce until everything is well combined.
4. Layer the Potatoes
Add a layer of thinly sliced potatoes over the beef mixture in the slow cooker. Continue layering, alternating between beef mixture and potatoes, finishing with a layer of potatoes if possible.
5. Cook Slowly
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours, or until the potatoes are fork-tender. Cooking time may vary slightly based on your slow cooker.
6. Add the Cheese
About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover and cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Serve Warm
Serve hot, optionally garnished with fresh parsley for added color and flavor.
