Ingredients

For the Meatloaf

  • 1½ lbs ground beef
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup mustard
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

For the Topping

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Oven
Heat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.

Step 2: Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, cooked and crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar, bread crumbs, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic, eggs, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Step 3: Shape the Loaf
Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing gently to form an even loaf.

Step 4: Make the Topping
In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar until smooth.

Step 5: Glaze the Loaf
Spread the topping evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 6: Bake
Place in the oven and bake for 60–75 minutes, until fully cooked and lightly browned on top.

Step 7: Rest and Serve
Remove from oven and let rest 5–10 minutes before slicing.
