Banana Foster Pudding

A rich, layered dessert that combines caramelized bananas, smooth vanilla pudding, and crunchy wafers, all topped with fluffy whipped cream and a hint of cinnamon. It’s perfect for gatherings, holidays, or anytime you want something a little indulgent.
Banana Layer
- 3–4 ripe bananas, sliced
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon rum (optional)
- ¼ cup heavy cream
Pudding Layer
- 1 box (5 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Assembly & Topping
- 1 box vanilla wafers
- Whipped cream (as needed)
- Cinnamon (for garnish)
1. Prepare the banana layer
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar until it starts to bubble.
Add cinnamon and rum (if using). Mix in sliced bananas and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.
Stir in heavy cream until smooth, then remove from heat.
2. Make the pudding
In a bowl, whisk together pudding mix, cold milk, and vanilla until thickened (about 2 minutes).
3. Assemble the dessert
In a dish or serving cups, layer wafers, pudding, and the banana mixture.
Repeat the layers, finishing with pudding on top.
4. Finish and chill
Spread or pipe whipped cream over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
