Cinnamon Sugar Donut Muffins

For the Muffins
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- ½ cup butter, melted
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Topping
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ cup melted butter
- Preheat & prepare
Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners. - Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. - Mix wet ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter, both sugars, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth. - Combine
Gently mix dry ingredients into wet until just combined. Do not overmix. - Bake
Fill muffin cups about ¾ full. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until golden and set. - Cool slightly
Let muffins rest for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack. - Add topping
Mix sugar and cinnamon. Brush warm muffins with melted butter, then roll or dip in the mixture.
