Classic Italian Meatloaf
This hearty Italian meatloaf bursts with flavor, blending ground beef with fresh herbs and a rich marinara sauce. Topped with gooey melted mozzarella, it’s a comforting dish perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

For the Meatloaf:

Marinara sauce
½ cup (plus extra for topping)
For the Topping:

Shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions:
Preheat & Soak Breadcrumbs Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with milk and allow them to soak.
Combine Ingredients In a large bowl, gently mix together the ground beef, soaked breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, bell pepper, garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, and eggs. Take care not to overwork the mixture.
Shape & Prepare for Baking Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased baking dish. Spread ½ cup marinara sauce evenly over the top.
Bake Initially Bake the meatloaf for 45 minutes.
Add Toppings & Finish Baking Remove from oven, spread the remaining marinara sauce over the loaf, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Rest & Serve Allow the meatloaf to rest for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve.
