“My mom liked these even better than the recipe she’s been using her whole life!”

Mini Cherry Cheese Danishes

These mini danishes are a simple, delicious pastry made with crescent roll dough, sweet cream cheese filling, cherry pie topping, and a light glaze. Ideal for breakfast, brunch, or as a snack.

Ingredients

For the Danishes:

  • 1 package crescent rolls (e.g., Pillsbury)
  • 1–2 tablespoons flour (for dusting)

For the Filling:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup powdered or granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

For the Glaze:

  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven & Prepare the Dough:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Unroll the crescent dough and divide it into approximately 15 squares or rounds (depending on how many danishes you want). If using frozen dough, make sure it is fully thawed.
  2. Arrange and Shape:
Place the dough pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Lightly grease the parchment. Use a small cup or the back of a spoon to press down the center of each dough piece, creating a shallow well. Gently press the edges upward to help contain the filling.
  3. Dust with Flour:
Sprinkle a small amount of flour on the dough and around the baking sheet to prevent sticking.
  4. Make the Cheese Filling:
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  5. Fill the Danishes:
Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each dough piece.
  6. Add Cherry Topping:
Add 4–5 cherries and a bit of filling juice on top of the cream cheese in each Danish.
  7. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Cool:
Let the danishes cool completely on the baking sheet or a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the Glaze:
Mix the sugar and milk in a small bowl until smooth and pourable. You can use a beater for a smoother consistency if desired.
  10. Drizzle the Glaze:
Once cooled, drizzle the glaze over the danishes.
