“My wife claims to hate radishes, but she went back for a second helping of these. Do yourself a favor and try this recipe!”

Butter Roasted Radishes
If you’ve only tasted radishes raw, you’re in for a surprise—roasting completely transforms them. Their sharp, peppery flavor softens into something smooth, mellow, and slightly sweet. This simple yet elegant side dish brings out their natural charm with a buttery roast and a hint of spice.
Ingredients
- 2–3 bunches of large radishes
- ⅓ cup butter, melted
- 1½ teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- A pinch of cayenne pepper
- Fresh cilantro or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep:
Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Clean the radishes well, removing any greens. Slice each radish lengthwise from root to tip. - Arrange and Season:
Place the halved radishes cut-side down in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the radishes. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and a touch of cayenne. Gently shake or tilt the dish to ensure even coating. - Roast to Perfection:
Roast the radishes for 20 to 24 minutes, or until they’re fork-tender and starting to brown and caramelize on the edges. - Finish and Serve:
Once out of the oven, sprinkle with chopped cilantro or parsley for a fresh, herbal finish. Serve warm and enjoy the surprisingly mellow, buttery flavor.
