Outback Steakhouse Alice Springs Chicken

Alice Springs Chicken
This delicious homemade version of the iconic Outback Steakhouse dish is packed with rich, savory flavor. Juicy chicken breasts are layered with partially-cooked bacon, melted cheddar cheese, and fresh green onions—bringing restaurant-quality comfort food straight to your dinner table.
Ingredients:
| Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Boneless, skinless chicken breasts | 3 large |
| Thick-cut bacon | 6 slices |
| Cheddar cheese, shredded | 2 cups |
| Green onions, chopped | ⅓ cup |
| Salt and black pepper | To taste |
Instructions:
- Preheat & Prep Chicken:
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice each chicken breast horizontally to create thinner pieces. Season both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper. - Par-Cook the Bacon:
While the oven heats, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat just until the fat begins to render. The bacon should be soft—not fully crisp—so it finishes cooking in the oven. - Initial Bake:
Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts in a baking dish and bake uncovered for 25 minutes. - Add Bacon & Continue Baking:
Remove the dish from the oven. Halve the bacon slices and place them over the chicken pieces. Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes. - Add Cheese & Finish:
Take the chicken out once more and sprinkle the shredded cheddar evenly over the top. Bake an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling. - Garnish & Serve:
Once out of the oven, sprinkle chopped green onions over the top. Serve hot and enjoy every cheesy, savory bite!
