Slow Cooker Cheesy Mozzarella Chicken

A cozy and satisfying meal, this slow-cooked chicken dish is packed with flavor and topped with gooey, melted cheese. It’s a fuss-free dinner option that delivers classic comfort with every bite.

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken:
    Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to your liking.
  2. Add to the Slow Cooker:
    Arrange the seasoned chicken in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  3. Mix the Sauce Base:
    In a separate bowl, combine the chicken broth, marinara sauce, and Italian seasoning. Stir to blend the flavors.
  4. Cover the Chicken:
    Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, making sure it is well-coated.
  5. Cook:
    Set the slow cooker to low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours, cooking until the chicken is fork-tender.
  6. Top with Cheese:
    About 30 minutes before the cooking time is up, sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the chicken.
  7. Melt the Cheese:
    Cover and continue cooking until the cheese has melted and turned bubbly.
  8. Garnish & Serve:
    Just before serving, top with chopped fresh basil for a burst of color and flavor.
