Ingredients:
| Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Olive oil | 2 tablespoons |
| Yellow onion, diced | 1 |
| Green bell pepper, diced | 1 |
| Lean ground beef | 1 lb |
| Garlic, minced | 2 cloves |
| Beef broth | 2 cups |
| Tomato sauce | 1 (15 oz) can |
| Crushed tomatoes | 1 (15 oz) can |
| Dry macaroni | 1½ cups |
| Worcestershire sauce | 1 tablespoon |
| Italian seasoning | 2 teaspoons |
| Bay leaf | 1 |
| Paprika | 1 teaspoon |
| Cheddar cheese, grated | 1 cup |
| Kosher salt & black pepper | To taste |
Instructions:
- Cook the Meat & Veggies:
Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and ground beef. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and veggies are tender. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds more. - Build the Sauce:
Add the beef broth, tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, bay leaf, and paprika. Stir well to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes to deepen the flavor. - Cook the Pasta:
Stir in the dry macaroni. Raise the heat slightly and cook uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring now and then, until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened. - Finish & Serve:
Take the pot off the heat and remove the bay leaf. Stir in the grated cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot.
