Glorified Rice: A Sweet and Creamy Classic
Glorified Rice is a nostalgic, creamy dessert salad that blends tender rice with juicy pineapple, fluffy marshmallows, and luscious whipped cream. It’s a retro favorite that’s perfect for gatherings, potlucks, or a light, satisfying dessert.

🍚 Ingredients

IngredientQuantity
White rice, uncooked1 cup
Water2 cups
Heavy whipping cream, chilled3/4 cup
Crushed pineapple (with juice)2 cans (15 oz each)
Mini marshmallows1 ½ cups
Granulated sugar½ cup
Maraschino cherriesFor garnish

🥣 Instructions

1. Cook the Rice
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add the uncooked white rice, stir once, then cover and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the water is fully absorbed and the rice is soft.

2. Whip the Cream
While the rice is cooking, whip the chilled heavy cream in a mixing bowl until stiff peaks form. Once whipped, place it in the fridge to keep it cold.

3. Cool the Rice
After cooking, fluff the rice with a fork and let it rest uncovered for about 10 minutes to cool down slightly.

4. Mix the Base
In a large bowl, combine the cooled rice, crushed pineapple (with juice), mini marshmallows, and granulated sugar. Stir until everything is well blended.

5. Fold in the Whipped Cream
Gently fold the whipped cream into the rice mixture, being careful not to deflate it. Mix until the ingredients are fully incorporated and creamy.

6. Chill Thoroughly
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours. This allows the flavors to blend and the texture to set.

7. Garnish & Serve
Just before serving, top with maraschino cherries for a colorful, sweet finishing touch.
