Ingredients
- Carrots, peeled and sliced — 1 lb
- Butter — 4 tablespoons
- Brown sugar, packed — ⅓ cup
- Salt — ½ teaspoon
- Black pepper — ¼ teaspoon
- Optional: Ground cinnamon or nutmeg — a pinch
- Optional: Fresh orange juice — 2 tablespoons
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Carrots
Peel and slice the carrots into ¼-inch rounds. Boil in water for 5–7 minutes, until just tender. Drain well and set aside.
