Homemade Chicken Cordon Bleu

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Lightly grease a baking dish.
    • Place each chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound to about ¼-inch thickness.
  2. Assemble the Rolls
    • Place one slice of Swiss cheese and one slice of ham on each pounded chicken breast.
    • Roll them up tightly. Secure with toothpicks if needed.
  3. Set Up Breading Stations
    • In three separate shallow bowls:
      • Bowl 1: All-purpose flour
      • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs
      • Bowl 3: Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper
  4. Coat the Chicken
    • Dredge each chicken roll in flour.
    • Dip in the eggs, coating completely.
    • Roll in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
    • Place each roll seam-side down in the baking dish.
  5. Bake
    • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temp: 165°F) and golden brown on the outside.
  6. Rest & Serve
    • Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
    • Serve with sides like mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, or a crisp green salad.
